Take a fascinating horticultural tour of beautiful Madeira and see the fabulous Flower Festival in the company of garden designer and TV presenter Joe Swift
The volcanic island of Madeira is known as the 'floating garden
of the Atlantic' for good reason. This tiny island is a subtropical
paradise, offering world-renowned gardens, spectacular coastlines
and dramatic peaks.
Timed to coincide with the island's fabulous Flower Festival in
2027, this tailor-made tour will show you the horticultural
highlights of Madeira: from the orchid nurseries at Palheiro
Gardens to the vibrant colours of the Monte, the island is home to
a huge array of exotic species. This eight-day tour includes visits
to a range of gardens including the Funchal Botanical Gardens and
the Quinta do Arco Rose Garden.
Of course, the highlight will be soaking up the sights, scents
and sounds of Madeira's Flower Festival in the company of garden
designer and Gardeners' World presenter Joe Swift. Wander through
the pretty streets of Funchal as the island celebrates the beauty
of flowers and plants.
Your hotel base during your stay will be the five-star Hotel
Lido, located just outside the island's capital Funchal, where you
can relax after a busy day exploring in the bar, sauna, gym, or one
of the hotel's two swimming pools.
"Madeira is a beautiful island with a laid back
atmosphere. The trip was well arranged and the hotel -
excellent."
