It's rather well located, with the town hall square, main shopping streets and city centre on one side, and lively Vesterbro, renowned for its nightlife, on the other. The most southerly of the Copenhagen lakes is a short walk away.

This hotel is one of Arne Jacobsen's most famous creations, who masterminded everything from the Modernist exterior to the door handles and cutlery. Underneath the boxy façade is a softer, more glamorous feel, from the sleek spiral staircase of the lobby to the curvy Jacobsen chairs, upholstered in Kvadrat/Raf Simons textiles.

There aren't a lot of facilities but there's a laundry service and 24h room service. There's complimentary access to the large gym next door and the hotel can help you rent a bike. The free refreshments in reception are a nice touch.
