THE LOCATION
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, specifically a tranquil corner of the Unesco-listed Val di Noto, encircled by acres of citrus and olive groves.
The baroque town of Noto is a 12-minute drive, and secluded beaches are a 20-minute drive.
By plane: direct flights to Catania take 3 hours from London. The hotel is over an hour's drive from the airport. Free on-site parking. Book flights to Catania.
CHARACTER & STYLE
Old and new are sensitively blended here, thanks to architect Corrado Papa. Many suites line a huge central swimming pool, while others look out onto what's considered the longest pool on the island, at 100 metres.
THE FACILTIES
Service is excellent and discreet. There are two swimming pools, grass tennis courts, a small gym and a spa. The free shuttle to the exclusive beach makes up for the inland location. The hotel has three dogs.
